petethesweet wrote:Hi Hugh & all, I think Ebay has got too big now, they seem to alter it every five minutes, i thin their aim is to make you look through everything it is annoying that you have to go into advance search then type in what you want. Have you noticed a lot of silly sellers are really over pricing they stuff. Pete.

When epay started,(we used daily print out to keep track and used IRC) I use to buy 2-3 MB (not cheap)+ other items from ALL over the world EVERY week !

Actually the USA platform has been stable this way for about a year, they may have changed (2-3 months)how various countries, ISP link in, as I now have to open my page within x country to see all items.and do wish for no USA listing to be included,(AU UK DE) mucking it up.
For some time now they also have additional (revenue)scrolling popup ads on my page.

They have been too big since they forced me from selling in 2007.
On absolutely identical NEW items,BTO's had solds every week at 120% of MSRP,my bids were barely wholesale or less.
after production, of limited quantity, delivery took 90 + days , so there was no way BTO had 100% of production. When I preordered !

Currently It is all designed to inflate fees inclusive of + fees on inflated shipping rates
Feed back is a TOTAL sham and most id's are double encrypted, so you can not research a seller nor know actual buyer or ghost bid.
Those high priced sellers are SUPER offended when called on pricing and if it actually sold, when item seen relisted in 60 days.
The small seller is overwhelmed and forced in to submitting to all the games.

Due to paying to have the laws crafted to their benefit ,(TOU)and algorithms they actually stop you from looking at everything and outside of the EXACT parameters THEY dictate comparing or tracking any portion is near impossible.

Right now they claim 151,000 matchbox items listed to USA. They limit me to inspecting < 9,999 at any time and over 5K, items ,many anomalies occur in a search. I would suspect + - 70K unique items and 90% of those are rental sellers that simply mass market , over price, and continuously auto relist, with out a care for buyer,, for that rent Ebay facilitates, chumming , trolling for a whale, pop up suggestions for buyer ,cross promotion of item and where needed creative bidding.ETC .

An example is we have several good seller /members here that 4-12 x per year have ..say..RW offered and do much better than the rest of us could, because they have developed a following.
At the same time rental sellers would have listed EVERY WEEK an endless supply of..x item .(choose)... RW box's only, which 97% of the time EVERY week sell for more than our members receive for the genuine complete item, then next week in rotation with endless supply, the car and (stated) fake box will sell for 70-110% of what those members would receive for the complete genuine item.Rinse/ repeat until an actual buyer is lured in.

Postage just increased for the suggested method,to purchase a MOY in USA for USA delivery, they have 90% of sellers forced into charging $8 shipping and intimidate them into 1 transaction . $2 bids are auto/algorithm rejected.
I have 3 ($12) to process tonight,have sent each seller 4 notes.
Let this item wait, list more than 2 items per week, use parcel post, combine 6-8 items into one shipment or I will not be bidding more items.
As you are giving my bidding budget to epay. Then cant understand why a $8 MOY will not sell for $20 when BTO's fake it @ $45 -$150>

unfortunately one of the last ways to reach a large market for low or any $$ on MB items
even here is a poor outlet for those of us that have spares to pass on
EDIT....had this happen 4x in last month. when seller is not happy with price on scarce item, can simply cancel sale and back door sell for $$$
If I dont pay within 3 days get banned from seller and black spot towards being removed.
with full BS APPS turned on get demands for payment every 12-24 hours

I was having similar problems as Pete, but now it has returned to original state as before the problems, so all is good once again, no more advanced settings to be amended each time I visit to search.
