Members wishing to send condolences directly to Dick's family can do so here. ( I would suggest that sending such a message is the very least each of us can do for such a well-respected and long-standing member of our little community,)

Very very sad news indeed, I will miss the messages about his latest finds and also how his family is getting on.
RIP Dick.

I'm very saddened and shocked by this news. Had many years of corresponding, swapping and trading models with Dick. I'll miss his knowledge of the Lesney years, his insight, his sense of humour and his infectious enthusiasm. R.I.P. Dick.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Kwakers but so grateful for his enthusiasm with our Lesney hobby. We shared a lot of correspondence when new findings were made, hot tip offs and giving heads up on models he was chasing were always lot of fun. His detailed opinions will be very much missed.
Our condolences to his family and friends.

I am truly sorry to read that kwakers (Dick) has passed away a true collector friend not only to me but to many collectors. I shall always treasure the variations of models he sent to me. RIP Dick.

Well, I am speechless. A remote friend of mine has now become even more remote.

Dick, I know you are not quite ready to be looking down on us but please know you are going to be missed by so many collectors and friends. Not just on this forum but the collecting community around the world.

Despite not meeting you in person, your total friendship came across in the posts on the forum and I like many others felt there was a close friendship between us.

I will be thinking of you for as long as I am involved with collecting matchbox models, forever!

R.I.P. Dick.

Can I propose we find somewhere on the forum to be called or named after a truly great collector, Kwackers.
