I pulled out my 44C and had a look at it. Though I only saw one rivet, the box is indeed riveted to the cab. The evidence presented by DrJeep points to a very sloppy and amateurish fake. If that is indeed the case, then did the donor cab lose its box through wear or cutting? (The seller is also offering a 25D that looks to be chrome-plated, and equally suspect as that 44C.)

I've just checked my example and would say that all painted components are as-good-as the same shade shade of red.

Here's mine with two rivets (and a lot of dust - sorry). It's the later casting with a rear bumper. If yours has one rivet I think that would be a previously unrecorded casting. Let's hope so!

I had a better look at my 44C just before typing up this post. With better lighting, two rivets were readily apparent. Maybe an example with one rivet to the reefer unit will be found later, though!
