Just the very nice like new case was bought for $12 Kurt, the cars Fintail bought with it were priced by an antique dealer. When finding Lesney variations like that red Jag. and the 22Bs that were at that sale, the rarity to be able to find them in the wild in 2018 is simply amazing! Their discovery will be a pleasant memory of Fintail's for life. Thanks for bringing us your Great story, we hope they will be in your "Best Finds" of 2018 next December. Cheers! Kwakers

I have never seen a mask sprayed rear number plate on this #22B Cresta, but I now see that Stannard had this feature only on his early Code 1 while Nick has it on his first three codes! I knew it, I miss one Hershey Matchbox Show and look at the gems Ethan shows up with to picture on our Forum.

I agree with you Dick, 22b Cresta with mask sprayed rear number plate is pretty rare. I have two variations of mask sprayed rear plate.
a) MW ø9x18
b) GPW ø9x20
I think that in the Nick´s list is a small mistake. It should not MW ø9x17 be but is should be MW ø9x18.

WOW! Some great looking models!!
Fintail: What a find and some great additions to your collection. It was well worth getting up early for and the 22B two tone turquoise model is quite hard to find -- especially in such nice condition.
Antonin: Thank you for posting the metal wheel early 22B Vauxhall!! I have never seen that model in the wild and glad to know it actually exists!

Hey all,
Me again, wish I could have participated more, but been busy lately.
I have another question about this model - would a C box be correct for this, or only a B5 box, as I have only seen it boxed with this type? I recently acquired a (damaged but presentable) C box for 22b, and would like to pair it with the rare variant I posted about here. However, I'd also like this car to be in a correct box. The car isn't mint (it photographs at a distance much nicer than up close, you know how those small chips on light colored paint can look), so the imperfect box is fine with me. I am pretty sure a D box is too late (maybe only for the gold/copper cars?). I'd appreciate any knowledge on this - I know boxes can be a real science.
Thanks!
