Yeah it was annoying getting this new Firefox 57. I went back to 56 at first, but when it updated on a second computer I gave up and ran with it. I don't have a clock. That's new on me. But a lot of things I just right click to either move or delete. The big gap either side of the address bar can be removed. Just right click it and delete. The home button was always on the right. To do that right click it and "move to overflow menu". Then on the right hand side will be a >> button. Click that and a pop down appears with the home button. Right click and "unpin from overflow menu". It pops it back, but on the right. Yay. I always have a menu bar, so I just right click in the top blank area next to the tabs and tick the "menu bar" line. Anything else I just right click and delete it. I am still not impressed by it, but I have managed to sort of get things roughly back to how they were.
It is said that this is to make it more chrome like, to bring people back to Firefox who moved to chrome. But they forget that some people use Firefox because they don't like chrome. I tried it, didn't like it, refuse to use it.
