Interesting pre-pro k-11 Transporter

the grey and red K11 is a pre-pro but my blue and silver version is also a pre-pro, so is the grey and red one a pre-pre-pro?

I think we use these terms a bit vaguely - I know I do! The grey K11 with the ramp from the K8 is so early that it might even be a prototype, and I think that's why it made so much money. Yours is much closer to the final production model - I know the cab base is without hatching, but I don't know if there are any other casting differences. It's still a prepro, and still very nice.

It is quite common to have 'Pre-Pro' status models all sharing the same details (or lack of!), casting faults and or casting modifications but in different un-related colour shemes.

Being a preproduction model pretty close to be given the go ahead for full production status, gives the sales team a chance to try out colours before full production takes place.

A 'colour Trial' status model is a full production model given a new colour to extend the life of that model to maybe make them more atractive or just brighten it up for a new season catalogue range.

Colour trial models can appear anywhere along a model's 'Time-Line.

Regarding my blue/silver K-11: There are definite casting differences (apart from the lack of crosshatching on the cab base) compared to a superkings transporter but I haven't had the chance to compare it to a regular wheels transporter - the DAF one which I beleive is next in the time line. The casting differences are under the top deck. Give me a couple of days and I'll try and sort photos.

Quite a few differences between pre-pro and production (apart from the colours).

1) Solid rear part of trailer.
2) Different rear chocks.
3) No tread hatching on both decks.
4) No cab interior.
5) No pattern on baseplate.
6) Top deck hydro pivot different.
