Indeed Rodger, there is definitely and concerted effort coming from somewhere. Jims post seems to have gotten the word out and I'm sure many of us here are doing our part to get "Matchbox Cars", into the lead!

Here are the latest statistics.
PEZ Candy Dispenser 31.82% (4,611 votes)
Matchbox Cars 27.86% (4,037 votes)
Wiffle Ball 18.66% (2,704 votes)

In just two short days, we have narrowed the gap from some 1758 votes behind, to now just trailing by 574
a gain of 1184 votes ! whilst , the tilt head candy cruncher crowd, only managed to gain 415 votes :D

Lets keep the effort going !!!

Does anybody know for how long the voting will be open? I cannot find a closing date anywhere.

I have to say that I am quite pleased to see Pez dispensers being considered for induction too, as they were conceived here in my hometown of Linz and produced locally in this area for about three decades, before production was transferred to eastern Europe and then China during the 1980s. (BTW a little known fact is that early examples saying "Made in Germany U.S. Zone" were actually made by Siku in Lüdenscheid before they introduced their own range of toy cars.)

As I see that at least the first two toy lines in the voting results will be inducted, it will be perfect for me to have both Matchbox and Pez ending up winning the induction, but I agree with everyone here that Matchbox has to be number one. So I will continue voting for Matchbox for as long as they let me...

This is on the linked page...

Final inductees, selected on the advice of a National Selection Advisory Committee, will be announced on November 9.
