Saw that at 150 Bob, add 30+ for commission and then postage and you will be looking at 200 quid for it just to get it to his door. Pictures he shows are all the same, just blown up sections of the Vectis photo. Perhaps he regrets his buy and wants to shift it quick but I suspect if only one bid at 130 and he loses 70 quid he will pull it for some reason.

Vectis have worked hard to get there reputation. They're now the Christie's of the Toy world. If you have a quality item to sell you send it to them. Even with commission, 9 times out of 10 you'll still walk away with more than if selling at your local auction, or even other specialist toy auctions. Every other toy auctioneer also sell other items. They might have a toy specialist, but that's it. Vectis have a matchbox specialist, a Corgi specialist, a toy soldier specialist, a teddy bear specialist etc... You get what you pay for.
They still make errors, and bargains can be had, but for me the only downside is the shipping cost. Which is why I always collect.

Just an anecdote.

I won a superb Fiat 1200 from Dinky-Toys France. But reading the description, it said Citroën 2cv. (When seeing a picture I read keywords such as "mint" "gruby" or "flat tyres"....)

I asked them what I had won. They said the Citroën. It was a mistake. And they canceled my purchase.

Nice gesture. Thanks to Vectis.
