I think demand is somewhat stable. But offer is growing due to collectors passing away.
I'm a french colletors forum member, and these years serious collectors unfortunately left us alone.

It's just a point of view. Because I know many young collectors looking for oldies that they even didn't play with when children.

Good point and this also counts with older stuff like 0 Gauge Hornby trains etc.The thing is some of the bigger collectors who leave us have gigantic amounts of stuff and when it hits the market place we can be swamped...

We shouldn't forget that it's not only the passing of fellow collectors which can affect the market. With low interest rates, many areas of collecting have suffered from the blight of investors and, when they move on, the bubble they created collapses, railwayana (especially loco plates) being a case in point
