Very nice collection Charlie. I like your detailed variations description, you are real stickler in King size models :D (like me in Regular Wheels). Please try to summarize your knowledge in a list of King Size model. It is an unjustly neglected chapter.

The Dodge charger chosen by Matchbox to model was a very rare version of the 1969 Dodge Charger .... it was modelled on the 1969 Dodge Charger 500, of which only 500 were supposed to have been made with a sloping flush rear window and the previous year's Dodge Coronet grille, both modifications were to aid aerodynamics for NASCAR racing. These 500 cars were to be built under homologation rules whereby a given minimum number of vehicles (usually at least 200) have to be made available to the public before the race versions can be legitimately raced. In the event, although 500 examples were offered, Dodge built and sold only 392 Charger 500's so it was rare then and even rarer today.

Antonin.

Hi Antonin,
Thanks for the kind remarks. Regarding a list of king size models - If one combines all the kings including superkings, speedkings, battlekings, sea kings, Adventure 2000 series, and Specials/Alarm cars etc. the number would be in excess of 300.
BTW, that is a very nice picture of three variations of the K22A Dodge Charger. Probably the best example I have seen with the yellow interior.
