I appreciate all your comments and for your info the seller has refunded me in full without argument. Hopefully he will learn from this and package things a lot better in future.

Hi Motorman

Know the feeling well matey...think I my worst one's what come to mind was a near perfect boxed example of a no 65b jaguar, seller posted it in a plastic postage bag and my postman pushed through my letter box crushing the box and scuffing the model's roof and another was a excellent joblot of lesney with some really nice condition and desirable models in it and the seller sent them jumbling round in a box with no protective packaging at all...think those 2 made me fume the most.

Lol...cheeky bugger, the seller who sent the Jag said it was my fault or at least the postman because he sent it signed for and it shouldn't have been pushed through a letter box..well what about in transit I said?

I think alot of sellers don't only care I think a few of them have got something missing.

Pushing parcels through letter box slots is quite common, had it myself and the model inside had to give up it's delicate box in an effort to protect itself which it did admirably well!

A word in your postman's ear is a good idea!

Hi Ghosthunter

Made me chuckle the way that last post was worded and about the postman, I think anything politely said would be landing on deaf ears...plus I have about 4 different one's, it's strange really because I hear alot of complaints about other couriers like Hermes etc.. but I only have problems with the Royal mail, infact my hermes courier is a really nice lady, absolutely no problems and great to deal with.

I think, in this point the seller is right. He paid extra to make shure, that you get the parcel and he is on the safe site. When the postman didn´t let you sign for the parcel, he has violated the contractually agreed handling regulations. If i were you and it would happen nowadays, i would charge the post service for the loss!

Hi Roland

I understand what you are saying and I should of rightfully signed for the package, but really the seller didn't pay for the postage costs...I did and what kind of idiot sends a little box that old in a loose plastic bag and expects it to get there in one piece...that was my argument anyway.
