Dylan is technically not a member Ghosty and Hugh knows he will type what I tell him to type, so maybe it won't be allowed.

So far no other posters disappointingly. C'mon all you newbies please have a go!!!! Don't worry if you guess wrong, it's the fun of taking part that counts.

If Dylan wishes to have a stab at it, and what is typed is genuinely his unprompted guess, then that's fine by me.

I should add that we need to know not only which model is the gem, but also why it is so special.

Hello I'm Dylan and I think I spotted the gem so let's look at the picture if you look at the top you will see an ambulance if you zoom in just where the Red Cross is you may notice little little tiny lines in the roof so I looked around and found that ambulance on nicks site and when I scrolled down I found that same ambulance with those roof lines and I read what Nick said and he said that it was reaaaaallllyyy rare and it is a 14c.

WRONG, the models with the casting lines are hard to find but not rare. The casting lines were for the cross decal and it's super rare to find one with the decal actually applied. The decal is old school for Lesney and is not a water slide decal but instead a solvent applied decal. These kind of decals were phased out just as the model was introduced and a water slide decal was used on the sides instead of the solvent applied cross decal. Some consider the models with the decal a pre-production and others feel it was just applied to a very low number of models. Either way, to find one in any condition with the cross decal on the top is rare.

BTW, if you find a model with the cross decal on the roof, but without the decal lines cast in the roof, it's a fake. The decal indicator lines were eliminated very quickly after the model was introduced.

Easy Joe, I don't think Dylan was far off the mark saying that 14c was rare considering he is 8!!!!

Well done, Dylan! Correct on every point. You're father should be extremely proud of you.
