I've started the process at PayPal to see if they will refund my money. This should be interesting to say the least. Apparently, Mr. Ambridge's account is still open. Hopefully they won't ask me to prove his death! I suspect that when there are no replies to their inquiries, they will refund. I imagine it will take a few more weeks.

In my experience paypal issue refunds fairly quickly.

The interesting question is, who runs that website untill now? Or does the website exist without some responsible for it?

The hosting company should be able to find out, who pays for the hosting costs. This person, knowing about the websites shop or even not, is responsible for the sales activities.

Even if this doesn´t help you out, it should be clarified to avoid trouble for further visitors.

It tells us Mr Geoffrey Ambridge himself was mostly in charge, it does not tell us who has taken over control.

Might be worth sending an email to here...lonestar_diecast@yahoo.co.uk and see what responce comes back.

You are right, Kevin. the only way to shed some light into this would be to contact the host and tell him, what happens on this site. They won´t tell us, who is in charge now, but maybe they are able to contact the new owner.

From my experience an untracked regular package from Uk to California takes 5-7days and a tracked package takes 8-10days,right to the door.

I have tried that email address with no reply. I did go ahead and escalate it to a claim with PayPal. They are currently waiting for a reply from Mr. Ambridge. I suspect, that after there is no reply, they will go ahead and issue a refund. PayPal has the same email address listed above. As far as the website, I'm betting that once the registration runs out next year, that it will disappear.
