I'm down to one casting needed, a minty boxed 21b. But that leaves many, many variations to find. I am getting down to the htf and pricey castings now. And then I gotta upgrade any that aren't mint. Guess it will be years to go yet.

Ken60, I like your not so mint collection. Those models have had a life! It would good if they could tell you their stories.
One of the good things about your collection is that if one of the models happens to roll off the shelf and crash down on to the ground you just dust it of and put it right back up where it came from. No swearing and coursing or jumping up and down!
I have plenty of beaters in my collection too.

My collection is like that too Ken60, it has models ranging from quite playworn, to those that look like they have never been played with. As you said, the hobby is "Great fun".
Always nice when one finds one of the missing.

I can only wish I had the box for every casting but don't. And not for each variation of each casting. I wouldn't have enough room. But the search goes on and makes the hobby such a challenge. I am just about out of room, my cases are jammed full so have to do something new. The wife thinks I'm crazy, of course says no way. Such is life...

If I want to reach the milestone of having at least one variation of each RW model, I am missing 5 :

2b
8a
14b
18a
19b

Just waiting for the right price for a boxed mint example.

But I am also looking for FGPW (36 thread wheels) models...

I recently reach the milestone of completing the King Size, Major Packs and Accessory packs ranges.

But I am also chasing D, E and F boxes for RW, as well as D & E boxes for KS, MP and AP !

And I am still not sure if I won't try to acquire the remaining YY I am missing...And of course, collect the boxes as well.

Then there's Husky and Budgie on Blister Packs...

Then...

Well, I don't think the list will ever end !!!

I am still looking for a 9B, 10A, and 27B in any condition to complete regular wheels castings.

I am now slowly tracking down boxed models as they become affordable for early regular wheels just to upgrade. I possess one of every casting for Lesney Superfast. I am chasing down a couple of superfast boxes.

I hope I never really get there. There is true fun in the hunt.

I have (at least) one of each of the RW castings which took perhaps 15 years to achieve (although with a hiatus of 18 months or so in the middle). I'm now going for at least one of each casting with a box. 6 to go on that front, with only tougher ones left so might take another 15 years lol. They are 5b, 17b, 18b, 19a, 21b and 27b if anyone has any of these boxes going cheap ha ha.

Otherwise just looking for box variations and model variations - my records show 99 boxes to go, plus a few hundred variations within box types. One of each Stannard variation is my aim now for the models themselves which should be something I'll never complete. Most of the major colour and wheel variations I have now, so just tough ones left one hopes someday to stumble across. Dreams are free.

Completed the same for England-cast Superfast - i.e. at least one box and model for each variation - loads of cool model variations to get though, and around 30 box variations left to go.

Collecting is forever...

Cheers,
Gavin

There is the proof that enjoying a collection without mint condition models does work, thank's for showing them Ken and I hope you succeed in completing it, but what will you do when you have... :D

Aside from color variations i´m only looking for very few models

#4a-massey harris the first tractor
#5a double decker the first bus
#8b-caterpillar the second tractor
#17a-bedford removal van
#23a-berkley cavalier the first caravan
#24a-weatherill the first excavator
#69a-commer "nestle's" van

As i´m not a mint in box collector, i would be happy, if someone can offer one of his gap fillers Image
