They did in fact use more suitable models, the 1911 Daimler and the 1912 Rolls-Royce.

Here are some more.

The long pale blue tray is less common than the green and black versions of the long tray. There are three different molds to the long green tray, and two for the brown desk tidy. The dark blue trays are distinctly different colours.

I actually think the Model 'T' Ford does not belong on the desk tidy. I have not seen it catalogued as so. Maybe Bob can verify this.

I too have the Model 'T' on "that pot thing".

The boxed Daimler is the "copper" colour that appears in the later "Golden Veterans" set, and does not have cast pillars. It has black plastic sleeves over the screws. I have a Y7 Rolls like this as well, with green plastic sleeves over the screws.

The two moulds for the desk tidy. They're different colours as well.

Slightly different dimensions and internal detail.

Here's the Rolls.

Thank's Bob for the confirmation of the Model 'T' Ford. I suspect the 1911 Daimler and the 1912 Rolls-Royce without the mounting pillars are castings from the 1971 introduced 'Golden Veterans' set, that's why they have those Two un-collared holes on their base. I think the desk tidy was catalogued in 1977 and 1978, so this does allow those Two models from 1971 to available for fitment to it.

That's my opinion, as stated above.

The Y10-2 Mercedes appeared in both gold and silver, with 1 or 2 spares, and with or without cast pillars on a range of giftware. Early examples were on various profile black ceramic trays and boxes, moving on to wooden boxes and acrylic pen stands, and stainless steel items. Here is a small selection I have.

The Y10-1 has been seen in plated form, but not associated with any giftware.

Hello Steve, I have 21 pieces of YY gift ware, as I did collect the Yester-Year models until about 1994. But then I fell in love with the

1-75 Regular wheel models which took all my spare cash at the time, but I still have all my Yester-Year models just did not add to them.
