Can we please not use the term 'Fake' regards models shown in posts on the forum, it can get you and us in to trouble. It may well be a 'Code 3' for the purpose of showing what a Hard To Find model looks like, so for now we should say a modified model or a suspect model with unproved status, thank's.

The model is advertised as "The truck/van is in MINT condition and is authentic" and not as a "Code 3 for the purpose of showing what a Hard To Find model looks like". You can edit my post if you feel uncomfortable with me using the term "fake" but I will not change it and I stand by my opinion.

No I am not going to edit your post, you have had access to where the model is being offered for sale and that is how you view it. The Admin and Mods of this forum are already involved in discussions about accusations towards suspect models/sellers, we want to be clear towards how we (forum members), regard models, even if to most of us here it is so obvious a model has been tampered with.

I didn't mean to start an old problem that we have but more or less just to educate myself when buying rarer models. I have no problem if we are talking $20 but when it comes to some of these rarer models the prices skyrocket. One of the best sources I have is the forum and the knowledgeable people on here. I know there are con artists out there and have been bitten once by TUT. The advice I have gotten here has usually been spot on. We all have our terms for that shady model but I truly don't think this seller has any idea that it is most likely not an original model. I do feel sorry for the bidder that ends up with it though. Looks like it will go for over $600 by the end.

I had written to this seller and he had since ended the Beales auction.
These are the types of sellers who we trust with keeping our hobby alive & clean!
Hats off!

Agreed, it looks moody to me. Both of mine are far from mint, but that body colour looks way off.
Cheers

Hi All,
Regarding the Beales in question,i have 1st hand info and close-up pics that this current seller mentioned had initially bought this specimen for his personal collection about 6mths ago from a well known (to us as well) Usa based Ebay vendor and organizer of big toy shows.
The team (Admin & Mods) could kindly advise if i should continue here?
Thanks in advance.
numi.
