Re: Does anyone know the brand EMBRO?
Hello there! Pure coincidence, I started searching the name "EMBRO" at beginning of July. A friend of mine, has two different EMBRO models and someone else is also asking about the name. First off my friend also has a "tow truck" and the other is the same truck casting but fitted with a load body. The other person enquiring about EMBRO has a Fire truck. Your itwm has a very clear decal stating "Volvo" whereas our one seems to say "Ford". (The decal is very damaged) I will take foto's of our two items and post here this weekend.

Thank's 69bug, more photos the better, I look forward to seeing them as this has been a 'Brand' with very little coverage.

Wow Andre, I'm really looking forward to these photos!
Do you have any other information on the brand?
I noticed that you live in South Africa, so can you tell me wether Embro is (locally) made in SA or that it has any other connection e.g. to Johannesburg?
Looking forward to any information possible!
Maarten

Re: Does anyone know the brand EMBRO?
Maarten, we have not been able to find any info on EMBRO. Someone suggested it might stand for EM Brothers, but this has not lead anywhere either.
It seems as if the addresses on the trucks are fictitious. Another thought is that the items could have been given out as "Promotional" items.
Will post pic's this weekend

for Ghosty: Would it be worth asking Robert Newson or Patrick Trench?

@ 69bug: Andre, if they would have been promotional products, would the maker do all the effort to put a brandname and a "serialnumber" on the base? To my opinion EMBRO has (or had) to be an existing company in diecast or metal products?

Maarten, It looks like yours is the only one with a "serial number". Agreed that it is contradictory to say they were promotionals, and also say that the addresses are not correct!
It is just that there is no info available (to me) about any of the info on the trucks! (Kotze St does exist, as well as Jan Smuts Ave as on the one South African found item) These items are really puzzling! Will add a foto in a few minutes.
