Steve thanks for posting these images. An historic photographic portrayal of a once great Diecast model manufacturer in its demise. Quite sad really.

Here's the famous road sign as shown in the 1970 produced book called Mike and the Model Makers.

I'm not sure when I took these photo's. Looking at the photo's I would say mid 1990's.

Looking back down Lee Conservancy Road from the Homerton Road end.

The Homerton factory wharf were the canal boats would tie up with all the raw materials for making Matchbox toys from the London docks.
This was the only operational factory at the time the photo was taken.

Tow path beside the canal that the zinc used to come up on the barges from London to be melted down and made into Matchbox models.
