So sorry to hear of your mums passing Dan, very sad my friend.

Dan, obviously I didn't know your Mom directly, but I know her indirectly through what I've seen and come to know about her son. That alone speaks volumes about your Mom. We've all come together here in Nick's forums because we share an affinity for old British diecast toys. My hunch is that your Mom planted some of those Matchbox seeds in your childhood. Continue to celebrate her loving legacy and please know that we're all thinking about you during this difficult time.

My Dad passed way when I was just 13 and I lost my Mom when I was 23, many years ago now, but I think to them and remember them, each and every day.

Dan, I have thought long and had about what to say. Obviously I only know you via VBD, and I never had the pleasure of meeting your mother, so whatever I write can never be truly personal. Nevertheless, having been through what you are going through now, you and yours have my deepest sympathy and my thoughts are with you.
It sounds like your mother passed away relatively quickly and did not suffer unduly. Many of us here will have suffered secondhand from the effects of dementia, having to watch a loved one turn into a mere shell. You were spared that and so was your mother, so perhaps you can focus on that as one small crumb of comfort in this difficult time.
