Do we have info of how many of the 900 regularly log in but do not post out of interest.

338 have made at least 1 post. The rest have never posted. Only 74 have made more than 100 posts. 1 has made over 6000 posts!!

Thanks Bob. So almost 500 members have never posted at all, there must be quite a few who just visit to read and gain info.

Interesting statistics. So with my 110 posts in more than a year I am already an elite member. ;)

I don't understand why there are so many registered users that have not even posted once?
To just read the forum you don't have to become a member. It is fully accessible without logging in, even the attached pictures are visible. So why do so many take the hurdle of registering but do not even ask one question or post something else?
Now I also understand the "Open Letter to Non-Posters" better.

I know I sat on the sidelines reading the posts for years without posting myself. The forum is a wealth of information and the expertise of forum members is appreciated. It is enjoyable to post a question or submit a response and wait for the forum comments. I hope to be able to get to know the forum members on a more personal level beyond their avatars and handles. On the other hand I won't be trying to break the 6000 post record!! Cheers, Macdonald

Just out of curiosity (after reading an interesting article recently), are members without any posts allowed to send each other pm's?

I know, that the first 3 posts of a new member are under investigation to avoid spammers. But i can´t imagine, that there is any kind of control or a limit on a PRIVATE message ;)

I have looked at this and there was no definitive answer on the official phpBB website, but another phpBB forum user asked something similar and actually wrote his own code to prevent this from happening and the code works on the minimum post count method before that poster can then send PM's.
