The "Woodgrain" series throws up some hard to find and extremely rare models.
Image
Some of these models are no where near as hard to find as were originally rated. The rating in the brackets is my opinion based on what I've seen over the years. I think the internet has changed things a lot regarding numbers of some models we see nowadays.

Y1 Model 'T', cream with textured black roof. Rare (Scarce).
Y1 Jag with small sidelights. Rare (Scarce).
Y2 PHV bright red seats. Extremely Rare (Extremely Rare).
Y3 Riley ruby red, black seats/grille. Very Rare. (It is so easy to switch components on these, I wouldn't even give it a rating)
Y4 Duesenberg. Extremely Rare (Extremely Rare).
Y5 Peugeot. Scarce (Scarce)
Y6 Cadillac transitional Rare (Rare).
Y6 Fire engine without label positioning lugs. Very Rare (Rare).
Y7 Rolls transitional Rare. (Scarce).
Y8 MG with tan seat. Difficult (Difficult).
Y9 Simplex transitional. Very Rare (Very Rare).
Y11 Lagonda with maroon seats/grille & bright red wheels. Difficult (Difficult)
Y13 Crossley RAF tender with Charcoal grey canopies/grille. Very Rare (Very Rare).
Y14 Stutz with derk red/maroon seat. Scarce (Rare).
Y15 Packard in gold with black chassis. Rare (Extremely Rare).
Y16 Mercedes two tone green. Rare (Scarce).

I would be interested in any other opinions regarding the ratings of the above models

Hi Bob, I would agree with your listing apart from the Lagonda for me. I have still not found even a playworn version with red wheels, but that maybe just me not trusting anybody.
Can I just say what a superb collection and great pictures Bob, thankyou for showing them on here.

The difference in the expiry dates is interesting.

The "Bread Set" Taystee (top) is different from the code 1 production model. The Model 'T' with the larger Taystee advert is very rare.

That is really impressive!
I especially like the 'Mobil' Issues.
Does this range only include these 5 models?
And do all have a standart 'mobil' box or do they have it's own Boxes numbered Y-_ ?

Awesome collection, thanks for sharing!
Greetings,
Linus

Hi Linus
These are the 5 models recognised as being the original issues for the promotion. The boxes are generic and are not numbered. Towards the end of the promotion, other models were used as stocks allowed. A sleeve which covered the original YY boxes was also developed and I have only seen one example of this which I missed purchasing on E-Bay some years ago.

I think I've seen two of the windowboxes, you show us, on ebay some years ago, but didn't really know how htf they are.
