Indeed Bob I also have an extensive Matchbox paper collection.
From 1961 on I have almost every language matchbox catalogue as pictured here.

http://www.mbxforum.com/11-Catalogs/00- ... uChoice=FP

On the earlier years I am still looking for some and I alo need several early trade catalogues from before 1966!
I have both UK trade catalogues from 1963, see similar here:

http://www.mbxforum.com/11-Catalogs/00- ... uChoice=FD

On the Collectible period I probally have one of the biggest collections around and it cost me several years of trading to get all the French, English, German, Dutch, USA and Australian versions.

I also like to collect adds and other Matchbox paper material like news paper articles about exhbitions etc.

Currently aprox 40 thick binders full of items.
Recenty aqured aprox 30 nice French adds from aprox 1962.

Come on Marcel, lets see some of these catalogues.
The link to the web site you gave is indeed a great site. John has done a fantastic job.
I'm guessing you contributed bits and pieces like I did. There is still a lot of catalogues I have that aren't on their. Also last time I looked one or two corrections were needed to be made.

Bob, I'd love to see some more Yesteryear paper work. I have a lot of that sort of thing too! I was trying to locate some Yesteryear posters I got off a French collector a number of years back to put on the forum for you and Mick.

Cheers, Steve

That 1956 Private German Pocket Catalog with it's French stamped Shop name (Or perhaps a collector's special stamp??) on both pages is a very intriguing find Steve. I only read a limited amount of German, but to see a printed catalog this old in any language is a real treat. Thanks for showing it here on the Forum for we collectors to drool over. The 27A appears to be the rare blue/blue early just released version of it, barely making it into this great catalog. How fascinating of an early Lesney collectors item..... kwakers

Hi Kwakers,
Yes, it's an interesting catalogue. Photo's of some of the models from above is quite unique.
I found it in a second hand book shop. I saw it sticking out of a book, obviously used as a book mark. The shop keeper even ask if I wanted it with the book.
I just calmly said, "Just leave it in the book, I didn't mind having it". Needless to say once out of the shop the book went in a bin after a good look through it for any other book marks!
Needless to say this is possibly one of my better finds as I wasn't really expecting it.

Cheers,Steve

...and what are the chances of someone finding that book in the bin and saying..."well bugger me, just what I've been after, fancy someone throwing that away"
