Picked up another 50 odd kits, heaps of books, a tool box full of modeling parts.
Only 4 Brooklyn models in tonight's lot but apparently the rest are all in the other boxes. Pick up for those has now been postponed til Sat week.
Sorry Ghosty, no Rollers [except a host of books] but a nice 1 of 300 Bently.
Enjoy !!

Does anyone know when these would have been made? They are lead i would assume because they are quite heavy.<br />I'm guessing around the early 1980's

Thank's slicc64, an amazing display of models and books etc, I see 7 Rolls-Royce books and the 'TOP MARQUES' Bentley is superb, it is based on the Tim Birkin 'Blower' car number 1 (of only 5 team cars built), painted Red during 1932 and still in Red Today. In recent times, the real car set a new World record auction price of around £4.5 Million (about $7 Million US Dollars), so the best we collectors can do is have the model, as a cheaper alternative...

Ghosty, thanks for the info on the Bentley. I did wonder why it was red and BRG being from that era so that explains that one.
Thanks.

MM, only others I have now are a red/red 8 wheel crane with some chipping, then some HTF models, yellow lambo mint boxed, blazebuster with black ladder mint boxed, field gun with ammo box cast on the right side of the base, a couple of 29 denis fire engins mint boxed, red/yellow boom 49 crane truck blister, 57 land rover fire mint boxed,
66 b mazda RX unpainted base but i'm suss on the base rivet so will post it here eventually for opinions. 74 orange peel mint picture box.

I wouldn't mind seeing some images of your SF#30. I cant remember the last time i actually saw a play worn example of this rare model. It is rather odd that the majority of SF#30 with red body/red, orange crane arm that come up for auction are in mint or near mint condition. I am always a bit sceptical about the authenticity of some of these that appear on ebay and at auction houses and would be very reluctant to pay big bucks for one.

Thanks for posting the images so quickly. It is good to see a playworn example. That said i have a couple of concerns. The wheels do not show the same level of playwear as the body (That could be as a result of being played with on a soft surface like carpet so is not major), but i am more concerned about the stress marks on the axel clip which would suggest that it has been removed at some time. It would be interesting to see whats going on under the axel clip where the jib is secured to the base. It is just a thought, this does on the face of it look like a nice genuine example but some caution may be advisable. :D

...it also has Smooth and Treaded wheels. I would like to know the wheel mould numbers if slicc64 could note them down for me and I agree with Alex about the wheel clip damage.

left home after uploading those pic's and now at work so will follow with more pics when home again.
One explanation for the chipping could be that when i found this models it was simply rattling around in a box full of other models.
It was $3. When I saw the owner reach his hand in and stir them around looking for regular wheels as if he were mixing bread dough I nearly passed out!!

One more thing, what is the safest way to remove the axle covers for inspection of the boom rivet?
Are there do's and dont's?
