Probably a combination of a number of variables such as paint hardness (itself a function of colour, thickness, and hardening time), degree of degreasing of the casting, tool force, tool rotational speed, phase of the moon etc.

Thanks for the much clearer pics.
There seems to be flattening of the rivet flares and some depression around the base rivet hole lending us to believe that there could have been greater pressure being exerted during rivetting.The distress showing up on the hood & boot seems to have been initially minimal but inconspicious & gradual yet enhanced/accelerated by some impurity/oxidation showing up over time,hence the cracking/chipping of the oven baked enamel.
This casting also seems extraordinarily rough perhaps thru excessive fettling. Perhaps Tinman could tell us more.
Are there any casting differences that ure able to notice?

Thanks Fixer, I will compare it to the Bea coach this evening and snap some more shots of them together if it looks like a match.

Numi, i compared all 3 of the castings even looking inside the cabin towards the front and can see no differences in them.

What I did notice and can be seen in the pictures already uploaded is how the rear windscreen roof line appears to slope down to the right on all 3 models.

Are u talking about this section of the roof? If yes, then i had noticed this earlier and they are the actual casting design and not any sort of damage.Unfortunately most early castings are not symmetrical due to lack of computer/laser technology which we have today but have been sort of hand crafted and then metal-moulded and cast.
The more experienced collectors could tell us more.

yes..,that's the area i'm talking about.
havent managed to get the pictures next the bea coach this evening.
went on a spending spree instead
bought hundreds of white metal kits from eighties and earlier so have been sorting those

Do my best to get it done tomorrow.
