Question for the experts on the 34B VW Camper bus
Re: Question for the experts on the 34B VW Camper bus
Nice Greg. My ones are the same as Gavin's. Everything except the KBPW version. I need to check my cases of beaters to see what I see. Happy Independence Day to all my fellow Americans!

Re: Question for the experts on the 34B VW Camper bus
Haven't been able to get to the forum in a few days but of course perked up when I saw the discussion about the 34B with 24 tread KBPW. They are certainly hard to locate. To me, they're many times the rarity factor of the FBPW. KGPW are also considered "common" but any mint 34B van with a clean box does fetch a bit more than other commons of the same era. Getting one with the serif-lettered end D1 box is an added plus. Did anyone notice the 34B E3 box that attracted very strong bidders last week on ebay?
Re: Question for the experts on the 34B VW Camper bus
I can't resist adding a picture of my E3 box and model, to complement George's beautiful example above...this one has FTBPW which I think is correct for the late box. Ethan, I'm interested in how much the model with E3 box you mentioned ended up going for. Not easy to find, and I consider it the rarest of all the boxes in my collection.

Re: Question for the experts on the 34B VW Camper bus
Hi Gavin, I believe that the E3 box for the 34B made $560 U.S.on ebay a little over a week ago. This was the second one that appeared to have come out of New Jersey in the past several months. Neither seller seemed to know what they were listing and were probably shocked by the windfall!
