Matchbox models in real life settings?
Re: Matchbox models in real life settings?
there are some on the Routemaster website Ghostie. You will have to Google it as I lost the address but the guy who runs the site gave me permission to use his photos on my memories site.

This is a website I have ookmarked for years Kevin and I have many more Lesney Staff bus photos in my archive.
Lesney never used Routemasters.
They used AEC and other busses but never Routemasters.

Thank you Marcel for the link, it is a very interesting Bus site, can spend a long time looking around the many subjects and photos.

The VW Camper and Mustang are similar to what I had in mind.
Also found this via a Google search, credit to the Foundry Community website.
There are also some modellers and photographers that set up toy cars using forced perspective on the web.
The London bus that I remember was a black and white photo showing the rear three quarter view of the model as it passed by a real bus stop. May have seen it in some Fred Bronner archive, but can't find it again.
Cheers.
John.

Not seen that before, very clever with CGI artwork overlay onto a real scene, thank's.

This photo was taken in USA long after the bus had been exported - the contractor PVS who provided the blue buses initially as long term hire not actually owned by Lesney replaced the original collection of these lowbridge Bristol buses with the AEC RT type seen in both group shots. English buses in England dont require this offside door which has been cut into this wreck but in USA where they drive on the other side of the road and dont like passengers board in the middle of the road then they cut these extra doorways!GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I can post this one here for now, will have to look for the other Lesney buses.

Thank you Mick for the background information on the clearly now out of service Matchbox staff Bus, I guessed that particular example was in the US, the road car was the clue.

Yes we do occasionally see them, but the image to me just said American, you know when you get that Sixth sense feeling for something.

Greg's (matchbox n molars) 2015 Calendar features Regular Wheel models in a host of real life settings complete with real drivers, ice cream vendors, etc.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
