you need to find a camp site with sifi ;)

Either an odd baseplate thrown into the standard production run or an early car hand assembled perhaps pre-mass production. Would be good to see photos of rivits and body to see if any other odd minor details present..........
i dont know who won this or if they are a member here is why i put up this thread...mystery person...if you are a member...please post some pics :)

This thread has made me go and look at the Lotus I received from "Idris" to check if it is minus the 'SUPERFAST' text...

...but as you can see, it does have the text, it's also interesting to note the open-ended front bumper has come across at least Two versions of the Lotus model.

I was prepaired to let Dan have this Lotus for his 'Trim-Strip' #24 Rolls-Royce, but on checking the pictures of his example, it seems to be in no better condition than my own example so the swap would be pointless, sorry Dan... :(

i know that a value is in the eye of the beholder...but do you think the trim strip rolls is as rare as the open bumper end lotus is?

Ghosty might try convince you otherwise Dan but the #5 is the rarer of the two IMHO

Happy hunting :D

Oh yes, the Lotus is much harder to find than the R-R, but I was not concerned with value, I was happy to do a straight swap so Dan could add the Lotus to his collection.

Is matching value in trades as important as getting that much needed gap filler.... To me not always, I think that was the same sentiment that Kev had

When trading, the absolute value or rarity of the model involved is irrelevant. What is important is that both parties are happy with the exchange.

updating my search for open bumper ends with no superfast on the base

i got one!

its in better condition than the open bumper ends with superfast on the base model i have...the new one has a few painted details like headlights and tail lights and rear license plate...also a faint name of jerry on the base and some play wear but overall its very nice...oh and a bonus...minty f type box!

sorry no pics...im still sorting out about getting a new host for my pics...plus in getting into another hobby...making rings out of coins...which reignited my coin collecting hobby as ive been going through my coin collection...im getting coin rolls from the bank and searching them...pretty fun....found some nice rare coins to add to my collection...plus getting my technique right making some rings out of regular coins before i go full bore making silver rings...even though ive made a few silver rings already and im wearing them...i couldnt wait!
