That shows perfectly what I mean. I think the two on the left and the one on the right have hand-painted trim, whilst the fourth one (where the trim does not cover the whole of the grille) is mask-sprayed.

Re: Casting #47
I tend to agree with Hugh on the 'Mask' Vs 'Hand' trim painting until this picture below, its the same picture but imagine for some domestic reason (cropping went wrong on the computer!!), If this was the only available picture we had access to, it would be assumed all the models were mask trimmed, because of how consistant and tidy the Silver paint is down the sides and the bottom of the grilles. It is only when you see the very tops we see untidy painting suggesting hand applied.

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Not sure what I have here. Need some help!
I bought the DAF Tipper on the left at the weekend thinking I didn't have it! I was disappointed with my self to find I did have it.
Then it was time to put it in the swap box and I thought I'd better just check it over.
On turning it over for inspection I discovered two things;
The number plate or towing hitch. The second thing is to do with the lack of a strengthening bar behind the rear axle.
The model I had is on the left and the one I just bought is on the right. Cheers, Steve

An object lesson in looking at every model we aquire because as Steve has just discovered, just when you think you have it, something different can reveal itself.
Nice find Steve, better go and check all your 'Beaters' now...

The last 2 versions of the #47 DAF Tipper with "Superfast" rear bumper can be found with either an outside measurement of 6.3mm or 7.0 mm on their front tow guides. I can verify both are in our collection now Thanks to Jason. kwakers

Yes come-on numi let Joe (tinman) know and me along side others why your 47b is unrecorded, as your silence is
