Re: VBD Auctions
I am away from home at the moment but I will look into it properly once I get home, Ideally it should mirror the ebay platform, I'm sure one of the plug ins should suffice.

Well, if you want to try the auction forum be my guest, It is just about ready but I'm having problems with the pictures upload, maybe you will figure out what I'm doing wrong but I can only upload one picture and not the 5 it says I can,
You will have to join as a new member, fill in the application and then confirm your email address by clicking the link in the email that we send you. I would suggest you use the same username as your forum username,
Prices are in UK £ (not in US $ as displayed)
Can we make it a rule that all purchases over £5 are shipped in a box and insured to the full value,
Have fun

Re: VBD Auctions
Nick, in my honest opinion (and that of my PHP experience), having a platform that apparently is discontinued since 2007, eg no longer maintained, albeit now know as 'enuuk', is not a good idea mainly of the potential risks it can have when PHP Version has an update and a lot of other security issues. I also see it needs few very important CSS adjustments, if you need help, I can help you out, just let me know. There are also a few minor details to work out, too.
Overall this platform is quite simple and averagely good base, but it lacks a lot of vital features and too much unneeded categories, but I am sure it can be reworked into useful place for auctions.

What a great idea......The whole reason I got a computer in the first place...Lets rock. Now let me get a couple items on to test the water...Ewan wrote:I would definitely give it a try. I do get occasional 'rarer than average' models (e.g. white grilled pipe truck) in playworn condition that I can't expect one extra penny for in my etsy shop because most who buy from me are not collectors. I had intended putting them into 'Marketplace' but am a bit cautious about valuations due to my relative lack of knowledge compared to most forum members. An auction would solve that issue for me
Heres the man with the bargains.Always open to offers from this sites members..http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/misterpop/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25

I got the Miura from Jason (Nearlymint) in a trade, I was going to keep it but I already have 3 of them so I'm letting this one go.

Re: VBD Auctions
How can one get the general range of what the shipping cost would be, prior to bidding? Sorry if I'm missing the obvious.

Re: VBD Auctions
I am sure the easiest way would be to weigh the package up and look up the chart of the countries mailer concerned and in my case would be the Royal Mail, much like the ebay system.Big Al wrote:How can one get the general range of what the shipping cost would be, prior to bidding? In my opinion it should be opened up to other forums such as the MCCH and MCF to name just two,the more interest the better chance of selling. Many of you know members from both those forums and are in fact members of those forums and putting the problems created by MC aside the members themselves are generally all good and genuine.
