Interesting model Linus, maybe a colour trial but a prepro I would expect a 2 rivet base on the Blue Shark. As you say for that price easy worth a go.

Here is an example of a two rivet base on a prepro model J mentioned. Also, the prepro models I have seen have two small braces just in front of the motor and one in the rear. I look forward to seeing better pictures of this one as well. Be sure to post a picture next to a metallic red 69B Turbo Fury, the paint color and metallic fleck pattern should be identical.

Thank you both for your comments Jason and David.
It's always fun for me seeing pictures of Pre Pro's.

Hi all,
the lot arrived today. I think the red shark is a very good made repaint. The colour is darker in comparisson to #69 fury. I would say it's a shade darker as the metallic red field car. The Paintwork itself looks very good and Lesney made to me. The rivet...hmpf. Not bad, but I'am not convinced to 100%. There are some traces at a front wheel arch and to the front, which let me think it's a fake.
Nevertheless I took many pictures, as I said, the paint looks very good and authentic. I took indoor and outdoor pictures.

Greetings,
Linus

Thank's for the extra pictures Linus. The first thing that strikes me is the amount of damage to the front label, compaired to the rest of the model. The rivets do tend to look a little suspect especially the contact area between the Silver-grey paint on the base and the 'Flared' edging of the rivet itself. The actual colour on my laptop's screen does look convincing and very Lesney regards the shade of Red (Maroon!), but overall, it just says something is not quite right to me and as long as it was not expensive then fine.

Hallo Linus

hab hier auch noch einen Farbvergleich heller oder dunkleres metallicrot beim Turbo Fury.Der dunkle kommt Deinem Blue Shark schon ziemlich nah.

Thanks for the extra pictures. My conclusion based on the pictures is the rivet has definitely been restruck. It appears too flat and not curved enough around its edge. There are odd places where it appears lifted around the edge, likely from being elevated from the baseplate presviously. And of course there is red paint applied to the baseplate around the rivet and the paint shade is not correct. Definitely worth the gamble though.

Woops i have missed the latest update from Linus,

I must agree with Davids conclusions that the rivet is showing signs of tampering but the give away for me is the red/maroon Paint on the silver base at the rivets edge.

I hope you didn't pay too much Linus. :)

Thank you all for your comments. It's always nice to have advanced collectors with good eyes and professional assessments.
As I said to the beginning, I'am not that frustrated. There are some other nice models in this lot (I will post some pictures in my "look at what I just got thread) and the red shark costs me 3€.

Thanks again,

Linus
