Hi Alex,
I recall that the Plymouth casting was damaged at some point and these older Mercury castings were temporarily used painted in the Plymouth livery for a time until the casting was repaired. If you look carefully at the front in particular, you'll see Mathias is correct and this is a Mercury.
Mathias, this is yet another very cool variation for your collection - thanks for sharing.

Very nice Mathias, great find, thanks for showing. Here is the one I had. I found it in a Plymouth box which suggests it left the factory that way, although being a Mercury I suppose I should have put it in a 59b box

Another nice Variation/ combination of this Mercury:
MetroPolice + LAPD with silver painted base plate and dark blue windows.
I've never seen this before.

Finally managed to find 59 Mercury Fire Chief with narrow wheels, a few paint chips but a very hard to find model in my opinion.

Very nice Jason, the first editions also came with the Fire Chief bonnet as a decal and quickly changed to a label, which one is that out of interest?

Very nice find Jason, the first issue of the #59b Mercury is a very tough one to find.
Rob mentioned that these can be found with decals, I would love to find one as I have only ever thought that the first issue had labels. My understanding was that only the #59a Ford Galaxie can be found with hood and door decals.
