Hi Gavin,
That's what I was thinking off. I have a couple of these and I think they are also on the Eccles Caravan - MB57. May be they are only found in New Zealand.
I've never seen the bright red one motorman showed.

Cheers, Steve.

Thanks for all the info. I remember swapping the clips around as a child, so I know what you mean about them being interchangeable. Nice to have some variety though.

Considering how small a proportion of production these red clips are, they could just be one batch of plastic clips made when they had no black dye -perhaps it took 1 day, a few days or a week to use up that dye. compared to black they certainly dont look smart or neat or brighten up most toys -colours clash if anything!

Well Mick i was at the Falkirk Swap today and bought this loose SF#66 Greyhound Coach for 50 pence. I was stunned when i turned it over!!! That is the first one with a rear red double clip i have ever seen and held in my hand.

Great to see that these double red axle clips can be found on Greyhounds now that we all know to look for them!!

Very nice finds everyone, still need the one with the rear red double only. As someone has said very easy to change but all mine come in beater boxes or job lots so may or may not be origional.Still very hard to find, often very difficult to see in pictures. Also have the white one pictured with these 2.
