That's why Taniwha was so excited!!
I like to know about all the variations but really only go for the ones you can obviously see when the models are displayed.
Having said that if I happen to get a small variation on a model I will keep it.
In fact I had that happen at the weekend with a red regular wheeled MB22 Pontiac. I was buying the new model as an up grade. When I turned them over to compare them the new one didn't have a pat number and the older one did so now I'm keeping them both. I have no idea if one is rear then the other.

That's how you get hooked Steve...one Pontiac becomes two becomes ten...

The BMC is a little sunfaded, but is a distinctly lighter shade of orange than my standard wide-wheel version, judging by the paint residue on the rivets.

The wheel die numbers are as follows:

LF: E01
LR: E7
RF: E41
RR: E41

This was one of a number of nice finds yesterday. The swapmeets in this part of the World have greatly improved in recent years, meaning that every event on the calendar is a must now even for collectors with very advanced collections.

Thank's for showing the wheel mould numbers. 'E' numbers are predominately 1970 usage.

I'm the same as you Steve,normally only collect the more obvious variations but then start to notice the smaller changes in hand or via this site (often realising after one of the others have mentioned it) and so the collectors illness grows....damn this hobby

Mathias, thank you for posting that variation. I added a picture of my example as it was originally packaged.
I had read somewhere that this vari was released in the UK only in 1985. It was made from available parts in the Rochford factory and distributed in blank blue window boxes.
Can anyone confirm this information?

I've thought all non tempa Peterbilt Milk Transporter are pre pro or colour Trial!
What baseplate type does have the chromed base? Lesney or Int. ltd?
