Hi Ghosthunter,
what a beauty!
What a great mix of wheeltype, baseplate colour, body colour and interior colour! Never saw one of these before.
I just have seen one (!) gold Rolls-Royce with thin wheels in German Ebay in all the years I was searching in Ebay.
Congratulation,
Linus

Thanks Linus, it's been a long search for that one with the Tan base. I am almost ready to post all the 'Gold' body versions I know of, on the forum, so look out for that in 'Micks Matchbox Superfast Chatroom' section.
Best regards,
GHOSTHUNTER.

The Blu-Green base version (Nick Code 6) I am no longer chasing or searching for, as I have it on good authority it does not exist as a full production model, only as what can be classed as a colour trial model which is odd to just trial a base colour, but strange things happen with Matchbox models as we know. The one example pictured in a model magazine many years ago, just does not surface within the collecting circles and its status must be questioned.
I would love to be wrong on all the above, but I am happy it is one model never to be part of my collection.
GHOSTHUNTER.
The array of baseplate shades shown by US collectors on a thread about this casting when i was an MCCH member 2006-2007 was amazing and they dont seem to have come here - many Americans seem to prefer American run forums........
Those odd coloured RW coloured baseplates were not made to brighten up toys, they were made during the 3 day week when a shortage of black paint compelled Lesney to resort to using up stocks of unused obsolete RW colours to get baseplates painted so I suggest the sea green baseplate on the blue #69 will turn up in tiny numbers, surviviors of 1 short run probably mostly exported just like the mix combining sea green and Victor yellow shade shows up on penny numbers of SF8 Wildcat Mustangs sold in Germany/Denmark

Thank you Numi, a serious collector has many models he or she enjoys, but it is the models you have been chasing for a very long time that stand out in you r mind as being a bit special and this is certainly one of those.

Looks fabulous - great colour combination.
Thinking that will be first and only SF in my collection.
Did have the blue one as a kid - but that looks superb.

Thanks Radar. As Mick ("SMS88"), points out in his comments, the Gold models with narrow 'Superfast' wheels tend to be found more in the United States markets, so any that do turn up in the U.K. are nice finds, but the version with Tan base is something a bit more special.

I had a red Mx 5 - real one. I love them. I kept it and bought a later model blue one. I told a friend I had a new blue convertible. Meanwhile a neighbour parked his peacock blue drop head corniche outside our home. That was the moment my friend drove past.
Think I can post a pic for you.
Have to get the peacock blue for that alone - but I do love your mint- lemon - lime model. Blue one with orange screen has LA all over it. Your green one more suited to St Johns Wood.
