Hello Dan and John, since I first posted mine one I have found another one about two years back. But I never posted that one, why I do not know.

Both of mine came from the UK I did put them to my ear but there was no rattle from them





You can see one of them is just a bit Lighter Blue, or is the other one a bit Darker Blue

Hello John and Dan, just checked them one has very thin hinges with a thin plate on the hinge, the other the middle thickness hinge with a wide plate on the hinge.
But they both have the same base just the hinges are different.

I see that Nick does not list the different sizes of the side plates on the hinges, and only Thick and Thin hinges and yet there are 3 thickness.

Here are the three different hinge thickness.

I've only ever found the "knobbly" tyred version of the hole-less Dennis Refuse truck - but would be interested to find out where in the scheme of things this fine tread version came about... there is no mention in Stannard's book of this version so using that as a reference point where/what would one code this version?

As a side question: what is everyone using these days to code their MB 1-75's - with all due respect I find the practice of adding a new variation number into the sequence for every new variation found, thereby meaning all other codes change, very off-putting and so avoid trying to code my models by Nick's reference system (although I DO use it regularly to help identify my models) - I prefer to code by Stannard's list and then add a closing alpha code for models that do not "fit" his reference
e.g 1-a-1, 1-a-2a, 1-a-2b and so on (an example only). No system is perfect but this makes more sense to my pedantic sense of order and reduces the need to go back and re-code models I coded, say, 10 years ago.

Hi Ian.
I am updating my site at the moment, I hope to have it completed by February or thereabouts.
I will then lock the codes and all new discoveries will be added at the end of the table so the codes will not change any more.
Later I hope to publish a 1-75 guide in a pocket size book that will have all of the code details. It will have a space to tick off the variations you already have and being pocket size will be handy to take to toyfairs and boot sales etc.
