Gully truck is amazing and looks to be genuine made for Lesney model perhaps using the stem of a Rememberence day poppy to make the hose unit. The Enfield connection, where Jack Odell created his LLEDO factory is provenance enough for most folks!

Looks a great model, the vectis model is on a very early body with out rear braces. This one has the rear body braces so maybe it was made later. Would love that in my display. J

They could both have been made at the exact same time using whatever castings were handy in R & D because they are different colour variations -we know Lesney liked green plastic with yellow paint from the #4 stake truck - perhaps a 3rd version with gray hose was also made and will turn up one day!

I compared the models hose plastic to a poppy stem, the poppy stem is thinner, whether the modern poppys are the same size has from the late sixties i couldn,t say :D ,in my hand the model does feel "right",and i am pleased with the other model, the tail gate shuts lovely and that gold tint on the base ,all adds to the interest lol.
