The specimen in question might not be a sunfade.

What I can see of it it does look like it is in the colour that Lesney painted it. But the base pictures should confirm it.

I take my own pictures on Sunday when I have the time but I have asked another collector to chime in because those "yellow-ish" models seem to be more common than one might think. This is his photo which I'm only sharing at this stage but he might join this thread himself:
Seems to be consistent with the second picture that George showed on page 1...

I'm amazed. Even in hand the colour changes according to the light. Very odd. But in normal daylight it's pale green so that's that. Here's a quick shot with the iPad camera to show what I mean. Close ups don't seem to be necessary now.

This casting seems to have quite a variety of paint finishes - I think there could be different paint mixes involved, sunfade or other environmental factors - sun isn't the only environmental factor that might cause changes in the tints of certain paints. Here are my only two examples - I got both in London, so they haven't had much exposure to the deadly ozone-depleted sunlight here in NZ being stored in the dark normally:
Jan, your model is very nice in any case. Not sure if we'll ever have a conclusive answer as to why it is this shade, but sunfade should be easiest to rule out.
Cheers,
Gavin
