One cannot do much with all the monies in this world but can do much more if he strives toward contentment.

Gold over Silver...what has happened here then, which finish should it be, one or the other, not both, how unusual.

Hi Ghosty, theres a theory as to how these gold-grille models were derived so i will leave this up to the early collectors/senior forum members to lend a hand here ;)

I´m not shure, if this is the right place to post it, but i found an answer to this question
Moko Lesney Matchbox 19d Lotus racing car

Update, Jon (Biggles) from the forum has recently discovered this unusual casting variation which has mixed text with axle
rings which was previously unrecorded, To keep the variation table in the same order this has been listed as code number 1a.
This also raises the question of the existence of an orange Lotus fitted with this type of baseplate.

If i don´t mix something up, this should be the one. It has decal with guides, mixed text, short bracket, so it should be a Code 9. But as one can see, it has the axle rings. This would make it a 9a

Another variation? I have two of them!

code 8a green, plated base, yellow wheels, 12.5 x 72 and 14 x 72 tyres, label, no guides, with rings, mixed text, longer bracket

Still looking for a gold trimmed 19B to add to the collection. They are a prize in any condition. Macdonald

The trim on mine looks similar to Numi's, that mixture of gold & silver.
