Nice one Nick, hope it sells more than your expectations and becomes a springboard for more books, Matchbox or otherwise. I trust forum members will accept this book as a guide to the subject of 'Matchbox Toys' and not expect it to be the ultimate reference work (the forum we enjoy now is the nearest to that), and I am sure the information within it's pages is as accurate as can be at the time of publishing, but from past experiences myself, I know how hard it is to keep everything correct, especially if you don't use a proof reader to check for spelling mistakes etc.

Depending on how many will be published and how many you will have personally, I can sell some for you at several toy fairs and as a member of the Maidenhead Static Model Club, I can offer it to members on their Club Nights, no pressure Nick, just more sales opportunities for you if you need them.

Good luck, I look forward to buying my issue and yes it will have to signed by you OK!

Ghosty.

Any chance to make this more complete with photos taken in the german Hans and Marco collection?

Hi Marcel.
As it is only a small booklet (half A4 size) with 64 pages and about 60 photographs I have to decide what to put in the book and what to leave out as it is too small to include everything, So I had to photograph Gary's best items and leave out the playworn stuff, But Gary has a very impressive collection so I got to photograph 8 colour variations of very near mint road rollers for example, Gary has all of the early toys with the exception of the soap box racer, So I have left out the racer, the euclid and the bait press simply because of the limited amount of pictures and text available.
Thanks to everyone for the very encouraging comments.

Hi Mike.
In the contract I signed I agreed to the book being translated and also a digital download, I don't know if it will be translated into German but I am hopeful....

Good luck Nick, these things can be hard work but as Greg said, exciting too. Hope you're practising your signature.

Nick,
Writing the book may be the easy part. Hand signing all the copies for all the forum members may be the real work!

What will happen here, is that you will see Nick sitting at the table, but it will be somebody else's hand come up from his lap and sign the books, thereby preserving Nicks nice little delicate fingers etc.
