Excellent thread, I entirely agree! Dark red seats have a distinctly pinkish cast unlike all standard RW red seats on all models which seem to be a more ripe tomato coloured shade.

That's going to be a fun variation to try and spot on Ebay! :D

I am enclosing my proposal of 72b-list. There are two variations (pending) in the list that are not in my collection, but I assume their existence (as well as Hugh I assume the existence of the dark yellow model with the post and brace)
In my opinion it is better to show in the list the variation that is waiting for its confirmation. So we all can concentrate the forces on certain variation and accelerate its discovery and confirmation.

Just to remember, there are two unlisted variations:
a) no inner grill brace

The White interior pre-production models are well known and seen personally by me on this 72B Jeep, the 23D Caravan Trailer, and also the 38B Vauxhall Victor Estate Car. Any list not showing these three models as first productions would not be correct Antonin.
I am amazed at the 72B Jeep variations you have shown here Antonin. I must agree with your logic on the timeline of the body castings and the two different size tow hooks, and the body colors matching those used on the 20C Chevrolet Taxi is not any surprise to me. 'Colorblind' Stannard didn't note very many of the color variations we collectors saw right out of the stores, he may not have collected in the 1960s as we did when these Regular Wheels were being released. Thank You for your Jeep 72B proposal Antonin, perhaps we should locate and confirm the 2 suspected variations quickly just as you suggest before we update Nick's listings to include them. I will now be looking at these Jeeps much more carefully in my travels. As Idris has pointed out, these details will not be very apparent on E Bay listings, they are only seen when the models are side by side and examined in Great detail........... :geek: kwakers
