Why not wait until it arrives, take you own sharp and clear pics and post them along with your in hand opinion ... and then everyone else can give a better opinion.

This seller is a smooth operator and passes these customs as genuine yet portrays ignorance in his description to the saga.
numi

We only ship in the United States

Item was purchased at an auction so we do not know the history of the item. The item appears to be in unplayed condition.

We do not alter, touch up, etc. any of the Matchbox items. We sell them just the way we find them.

Item is in like-new condition

Thanks Numi, i am having the model sent to David (Vetrad) who will be able to check it against his original and confirm what we all suspect to be true, that it is a repaint!!!. I obviously didn't research this seller like you have now done Numi and you have certainly confirmed the likelyhood that i have been rather fool hardy by bidding.

I would however like to place the blame entirely upon the bottle of Reserve Rioja and the several home measures of scotch that forced thereselves down my throat earlier that night as being entirely responsible. The shocking thing is that i can hardly remeber actually bidding and it was only when i checked into e bay the next day (with my hangover) that i realised that i had been bidding and had won the blasted tanker.

Firstly i massive thanks to David (Vetrad) who i had this model sent to and for confirming that this Tanker is a repaint and for providing these superb comparison shots.

Obviously this is a lesson learned on my part never to bid on Ebay in the middle of the night whilst drunk!!!

I hope that these images may also be of some help to fellow members in providing some assistance in how to identify a repainted Aral tanker and to be perfectly honest in the cold light of day it is so obviously a repaint that i can't beleive i fell for it.
