Thanks MM,perhaps other bubblepacks of this Sambron do exist.
I will say that the Sambrons with the door tampos are htf rather than rare.
Heres another for drool...... ;)

Numi, will you stop showing 'HTF' models we all want in our collections but models that don't come our way... :D

There's certainly a steady drip of tampo Sambrons onto the market, but it is a slow drip. with, perhaps, an average of three every year on Ebay.
The story goes that there was a run of either 200 or 250 of these models for promotional purposes by Sambron. Whilst the majority of tampo examples do seem to originate from France (where Sambron have their headquarters), I remember seeing boxed examples in a shop in the London area. I therefore think it quite possible that although there were officially only 200/250 models, all of which were dispatched to Sambron in France, a significant but unknown quantity of additional models were produced and then released with the first wave of normal production models through ordinary retail outlets.
I'm absolutely certain that there's something about this promotional issue in one of the U.K. Matchbox magazines but I simply cannot find it. Anyone else like to have a try?

I've just noticed that there was a Sambron with tampo in the recent Vectis Ron Burgess auction (lot 1377). The hammer price was a measly £80 which I find staggeringly low.

I would say about right once you add on 20% commish and postage (if you were not able to attend the sale). I personally would never go over £100 for a minter imho.

Very nice numi, is the matchbox sign on the box a label as well.
Just got this one as I needed one without the raised casting in good condition, the packet was partly open but when I looked it has the Sambron on the side. I cannot prove it was in the box from new as it does come out but I now have both types of casting with Sambron.

Dull blue with thin wheels / Brighter blue with medium (4 mm) wheels. Common G type box with red TM / Scarce I type box (with "1972" on bottom of display sides).
Remember the insane I type box Graham H showed in late 2011 with "New" in red and "1971" on bottom of display sides ?
