If I and other veteran collectors don't share some of our Lesney history here in 2014 Lads, some of our points and facts could be lost forever. Besides, I enjoy rambling about our experiences 45 years ago with graphic detail while I search for my drink I sat down somewhere in the Cave 10 minutes ago.........LOL
The number of original two color Hatras has never been discussed here Kenn, but I would say they are common enough to have over 30 originals still surviving. I have seen at least 4 sell on EBay the last 6 years, one of which was from our own 'Tinman Joe', (His 2nd one?), at least one from a Dr's collection in a Vectis Auction, and perhaps one other that Alan 'Toyboy' carried around for sale for a while. With those ten I have seen or heard of that also includes our three and Kay's example, perhaps my 30+ estimate is a little low Kenn.
To find one of these in an Antique Shop Choobox sounds very exciting! To hear it was found in the New York/New Jersey area, the center of Bronner's territory, doesn't surprise me at all. I really believe all the two colors were mixed into cases he received of these Hatras, and I have yet to meet anyone having originally found theirs out of Bronner's distribution area. This two color Hatra variation I had the privilege to proudly introduce to the U.S. collector world in 1968 was, and always will be one of my favorite Lesney Toys. Can anyone tell...... :D :D :D :D kwakers

My two-tone Hatra came from the States as well. (Has anyone found one anywhere else?)
As regards Toyboy's offering, I discussed it at some length with him about a year ago and we came to the conclusion that it was a fake. He then immediately removed it from his listings.

Normally, my luck definitely doesn't run this way, so I need to know...was I really lucky, or did I pick up someone's handiwork? :?:
Thats a lucky-find KM,undoubtedly a genuine factory specimen and in great condition too!
Congrats!!
