Mercedes Unimog 49b in green?
Re: Mercedes Unimog 49b in green?
I live in the U.S. George, but I also enjoy using 'Colour' here. I think the spelling fits the word usage much better for our Lesneys, and I am picturing an English Nobleman (Ghosty??) speaking it every time I use that term. I somehow cannot seem to picture Crocodile Dundee using that same 'colour' term George, are you of the Australian Nobility?... Dick

That is a repaint. Probably done with good old Testor's green. There is some paint on the windshield and on the red parts. That green was sold in the Testor's multipack sets for a long time. It shows up a lot on old Matchbox.
That is a pretty nice junkyard though. There is a good body for an Ice Cream truck remake. A Ford GT and some tractors to trade to Tinman and three Studebakers. The red Studebaker is a repaint, but one of the others has a dark blue slider.

Good point Reg, I never look in those, I have an 'Ashtray Inspector' for that and he reports back to Marmaduke who is supposed to report back to me.

Hi, My mb 30 and box'd 38 are the lighter green like yours, but my few army twin packs are a dark green . I'm sure my box'd #38 is different shade ... Just anther reason do build some drawers in my computer room so I can get to my cars better faster . to cross check .
I don't use camera flash for photo's ,, as I know about the colour change .. I like the Ai setting on my camera.

In model making In NZ and I'd say UK as well we did not have Testor's paints... We have Humbrol made in Humbrol UK,(I;m sure )
Brunswick green Humbrol #3 . .Not to far from BRG .. (british racing green) ..Testor's paint is USA made for USA market. Very rare here and not good paint to use. They did have a nice red/brown undercoat and a quite good spray chrome.

Testors never was great paint. It was what we had back in the day. It amazes me how many old Matchbox ended up with that green.
I may have a few in the junk bin still overpainted.
I do like the lot though. I would buy it if it was cheap.
