65b Jaguar 3.8 litre Saloon
Re: 65b
That is odd since I think it has always been assumed that the pre-production 65b carried the same blue as the 65a.Diecast wrote:It is interesting that no blue shade of 65a does not match the blue of 65b Jag.

Re: 65b
Hi Antonin.
Welcome back, we missed you!.
Your blue 65b looks the same shade as the ever ready truck.
Good to see it also has clear windows, Christian has been looking for a 65b with clear windows but has been unable to find one, I guess a few were released in the standard colour but with pre pro glazing.

I agree with you Nick, it is the same situation as e.g. by 28c Jaguar with three line text and pre pro windows. There are a few models with four line text and pre pro windows.nickjones wrote: I guess a few were released in the standard colour but with pre pro glazing.

Re: 65b
The difference between the gray wheels and silver wheels is very small. If we are suggestively convinced that there are silver wheels, so easily we can overlook the gray shade. My blue pre-pro Jag has GPW ø9,5X20 and no SPW. At first photo there are two models, one has a gray wheels and second one the silver wheels. At first glance, almost no difference.Idris wrote: ...The final UK Matchbox update in August 1983 provides details of a blue 65b which, at that time, was owned by John Marshall of California. The colour is the same as that of the non-metallic 65a. The baseplate is the usual silver-grey on both sides and it is fitted with SPW......

Re: 65b
As I have checked my models once more, I have noticed one red metallic model with GPW ø9,5x20. It seems to be an unlisted variation.

Re: 65b
There are mentioned two colours, metallic red (left) and red (middle). I have one model with different shade, something like darker red with maroon undertone(on the right)
