Wolfie was a true gentleman. He was fortunate enough to meet with Jack Odell in South Africa and chat at length about Matchbox.

He was always keen to chat. He had a wide ranging knowledge of Matchbox.

Undoubtedly he has one of the best King Size collections in the world.

He will be sorely missed.

Very very sad, and so young. God bless you Wolfie.

RIP Wolfie - your name will always be part of the cream Mercury Cougar legend and your contributions are irreplacable

on behalff of Stewart Orr, cofounder of MICA to whom I just sent this sad message, Stewart wrote:

Thanks for this sad news, as you so rightly put it, Wolfie was a great collector and a truly nice man
He did a lot for MICA and was never one to say how much he knew about Matchbox, yet kept quiet guidance
from behind the spotlight.
I am very saddened to hear this.
Could I ask you to pass my condolences to Gail and the family.

Wolfie was a friend as well as a fellow collector. We never met in person but traded throughout the years. My sympathies to him and his family. God Bless

Oh that's sad. While I never met Wolfie, I like most collectors have heard his name for a long time. Having read his postings here clearly demonstrated not just his knowledge, but his love for Matchbox. So often those who become "experts" forget the reason they became interested in something in the first place. Clearly this was not the case with Wolfie. When he wrote about a subject it was very clear the excitement was still there. Great people like this are hard to find and the hobby will be less without him.

This is very sad news. Such a loss to our hobby, but the greatest loss is for his family. Let our thoughts be with them at this time.
