couple years ago there was a great commercial for "Cracker Barrel" (a homestyle eatery) that featured a 31b station wagon and trailer. Here is the link.

I have been to both Johnny's toy shack (the "expert") as well as Gold and Silver pawn (location of "Pawn Stars") and neither knew or was willing to tell me if the person ever claimed his cars.

Very interesting Chris, and quite strange by the sounds of it. That collector may be in and out of both shops frequently as a buyer, so they may just not want to 'share' facts on him with you. That 'Pawn Stars' Lesney episode has to be 2 years old now, but loaning 20,000 against just 2 totes of little toys is not the kind of transaction either the Pawn Shop people or Johnny would forget. Johnny seemed excited enough over the collection, so chances are he did not get to buy it if he didn't offer you some rare Matchboxes from it. I know some of these reality shows are scripted, but having watched that episode twice, the collector seemed genuine, as well as did Johnny's knowledge and statements of some values on a couple of our rarest Lesney toys. A friend recently visited the Gold and Silver Pawn, but only saw 'the help' working there. He never got to see any of the show's TV stars at all. kwakers

The 2010 made "100 Greatest Toys" presented by a Mr Johnathan Ross was recently re-broadcast on British TV. It has a short section on"Matchbox" cars with a short clip of film showing the models being produced.

The 1966 film version of Thunderbirds was shown on our screens in the UK this morning and a number of matchbox models will be spotted parked at the airfield as Zero X is prepared for take off to Mars!

None of the models were enhanced to give them a futuristic look despite the film's storyline being set during 2026 but as these models are mostly subjected to 'Long Shot' photography I guess they felt it was not a problem for viewers.
