Looks like a wish list for most RW collectors. Beautiful to see all these models in one place. Top rate post.

Hello Pete good to hear from you again, yes the 57a model on the unit is a very different colour. It is not a repaint I have had it for quite a long time I bought it at Sandown from a well know dealer many years ago.

Hello Bill, yes is the Dark Blue one I have got it with the Light Blue one, the Blue/Green is also very scarce, but I think that the Light Blue one rarely comes up on the market for sale.

Here are the five listed colours again for those collectors who have not seen them, although they are on Nicks other variations site.

I have often thought that the Forum could do something similar at e.g. one of the Barry Potter NEC toy fairs. There are always people there touting display cabinets and there are always empty tables. Put the two together and add in a number of Forum members showing, say, ten choice items and just imagine the resultant display!
Good for the Forum, good for Barry and good for the display cabinet peddlar!

The dark blue variation is by far and away the rarest colour. Afetr all these years, I'm still looking for one and have money/interesting swaps available should any Forom member have one available.

I go to the two biggish! toy fairs in the Slough area, Windsor Itnl (in Slough), and the other one held at the Sport/leisure centre, on the Farnham Rd, Slough. I would love to get involved in a 'Club Display Day' at both of these events. I could probably hire the table and if Nick designs some printable material, downloadable from the forum, I will print it off and display on the table.

We will need some models though and while I can display some Rolls-Royce, there must be some others, so if forum members know they are going to one or both of the toyfairs mentioned above, they could bring six models with them and display them, is that any good to anyone?

I will work on further table details and who I can get to 'Man it' all day and what would look good on a 'Club Table', so lets have your thoughts on this.

I did indeed. In fact I've been having quite a correspondence with the seller.
It's a bit of an odd one, with the interior of the bodyshell being painted in what appears to be the normal dark green and a different colour on the exterior. (You can see this very clearly in the photograph below which I've borrowed from the listing. The difference in colour was, eventually, confirmed to me by the seller.) The seller also sent me a nice, clear baseplate photograph which showed normal dark green rivets, wheel wells and sills.
It is therefore either a model which either has suffered some kind of environmental damage, so changing the paint colour on the outside, or it is the result of being sprayed two different colours, one from the upper paint guns and one from the lower.
As a result of the above, and also because I was not 100% happy with the match between the pictured body colour and what I understand to be 33a dark blue (in spite of being asked to do so, the seller did not send me a photograph of the model taken in daylight outside), I did not bid on it.
It will be very interesting to see what the buyer makes of it!

P.S. If anyone can tell me how to save an image attached to an Ebay mail, I'll happily post the baseplate photograph as well!

Hugh i would think its as simple as right clicking on the image and selecting "save as" and the deciding what folder to save it to in "my photos"

Try that.
