As Jason mentioned, the seller has some regular wheel repaints for sale. Fear the worst and hope for the best Motorman and if it's something special, celebrate and if it's a repaint, go for "not as described". Forget the lack of "original" wording, it's misleading. He may or may not be intentionally misleading but that's not your problem. Worth a try.

Thanks JB as i have said this is a total gamble and one that i am beggining to regret. At least it's only pocket money i have spent. If it turns out to be a turd i am going to keep it as a reminder that gambling is a mugs game!!!

Most of us have been there and done it, it goes with the territory sometimes.

I've had my eye on this seller for a while now. A small but significant percentage of his stock is composed of 'unusual' models, but the photographs that accompany such listings do not show the finer details (such as axle ends) and never show baseplates (and therefore the drilled out rivets).
I have contacted him a couple of times and he is always most courteous in his replies and plays the innocent very well. However, the fact that he does not include baseplate shots of his suspect stock indicates to me that he knows full well what he has and is simply trying it on.
Definitely a candidate for caveat emptor!

Obviously this guy is not in Joe (Tinman's) league. Just check out the orange sprayed carpet thread which has stuck to the paint work.

By the way looking through a loupe there are some tiny remnants of dark green metalic paint near one of the rear wheel arches.

I am going to keep this abomination as a reminder that if it looks too good to be true it most probably is!!!!!

Never mind Motorman, as I said earlier, we've all been there. The signs were not good on this one, but hey, 5 stars for speed of dispatch.

I scraped the depths with this one Numi. I really should return it to the pits of hell, where it came from, however i am going to hold onto it and display it as a reminder of my foolishness!!

That's what i get for stumbling across an ebay auction with 3 minutes left in the auction!! Not enough time to research it or ask the seller for a base image. ( I understand other forum members asked him for a base image and he did not reply) He's definately on my "sellers to avoid" list now!!!!
