George, Do you also find that Nick's variation guide may have the raised circle and flat bodies without circles mixed up in his codes now, or has that been corrected? I know the unbraced exhaust variation like Mike pictured is always found with the early raised decal circle bodies, so that is the first body style. kwakers

Sorry, my english.
I think difficulty in communicating.
I try it again:

1) My model has the code 2 (no exhaust brackets / 3 ribs small text)
2) But the model has (with decal guides). :?:

The interesting thing is the stickers guidance in this model.

Hello Dick, Nick, and Mike, My listing of variations is going by Stannards, and not by Nick worthy lists. This because I had the Stannards book a long time before Nicks Variation lists appeared on his site. In my earlier post on this Dark Blue model, my one is unlisted on Nicks variation pages.
It must be very hard for Nick to keep up with all the new variations that are found, on Stannards book some models are listed with just four or five variations but the same model on Nicks pages can list up to two or three times that amount of variations, mainly because Stannards listings are about thirty years old, but it is still a great book to have for collectors.

To start with when a model is debated on this forum I do check mine against Nicks lists, but not all my models, as just the regular wheel number over 1200 so I leave well alone, just yesterday I took all my "A" models out and dusted them and the shelves and that took me over six hours to put them back in order.

Like Gregs 70a with a smooth roof I checked mine plus my spares and found I had five, but not one with the rivits, and no windows then at our local get together I found it hoorah another of the list, :) :)

I do not know where Nick gets all the variations from, is it from books or collectors? I have listed a few unlisted variations over the time but they remain unlisted still, as noted it must be very time consuming to keep up with all these new variations that are found by collectors.

Hello George, in my collection are more than 600 Matchbox RW models.
All 600 models listed after Nick's code list in my catalog.
I think I've found in my time as a collector 5 new code models.
I showed this model on the forum. Accepted by many members.
But not yet today on the code list.

Please excuse my impatience.
Friendly Collector Greetings from Austria

Hello Mike, it is very difficult to keep such a big reference site like Nick's up to date, with all the new findings from the forum's members and with new members joining us all the time, this again will add to new findings.

Once a reference work like Nick's has been openly published as a book or on the internet, there will be collectors shouting loud about the model in their collection missing from the list and they want that model to be added to the list.

Multiply this by three or four and you can see how much extra work somebody like Nick will have to do, to get the models added to the list, in the right place on the list.

Reading many threads on this forum shows we have a lot of members like you, with new findings to be added to the list and Nick is often having to mention he is aware that the list does need some updating, so please, please, pretty please Mike, be patient, I am sure Nick is keeping a record of our new findings.

Greetings from the UK :P ,

GHOSTHUNTER.
